In July, I will have about a week free, and the first thing I checked, was if I could change my ticket back to Canada, to an earlier day. No luck though: I Could do it, but it would cost me about 50% of the ticket price. So... I have some free time... And I would like to go to Paris, especially if I can get some friends to come with me. This is just something in my mind, which I like thinking about.
There is something else in my mind... quite a bit... and it started... kind-of, with my thinking we (in the theater,) would have an easy, relaxed last 6 weeks of the season, without anything new to learn. and not too many performances. (In the end, this proved incorrect: There is an opera Gala thingy on the 3rd of July, as a farewell concert for our Intendant - the chief, head-honcho theater director guy, who's retiring, I guess. And... there's two new pieces from Musicals that we will be choreographed for that evening. So... there's plenty of rehearsals still... starting on Monday.)
Now that that's all explained, the thing that's been on my mind: With this free time I thought I'd have, I finally started developing an idea I've had for the last year or so; an idea for a dance piece. Yes, I figured that I'd finally try my hand at choreography. Now, after searching for music, deciding on a piece, deciding that that piece would never work, then deciding that it would after all... I've started setting steps.
And it looks like a long process. (my first day produced 30 seconds of dance.) And, even now... I suggest that no one should ask when it will be ready, and how it's going. It is only an experiment, to try my hand at creating dance, and seeing what the result is (if there's any, in the end.)
So, that's what I'm doing with much of my free time.
And, of course, spending time with Yonca. (Who is that? she was introduced a little in my last BLog.) We watched the film Amadeus today, which was enjoyable, but not an instant favourite of mine.
Well, it's nearly 11 at night now, so I'll end this.
Matthew.
