Subject: Hollidays (A Me-Mail to all family and friends, Dec. 18, 2001

Dear Family, Weeks's and So on and so forth:

So, it's Tuesday, I'm in a realy good mood, I've a fair chunk of time on this computer, and no one I particularly need to be writting to.

SO:  It's time to compose Matthew's Festive E-mail. (Me-Mail.)

Get comfy, open your mind, get a pillow if you want, and here we go:

I am happy happy happy!  Right about now especially, because I had a very good weekend.  That's what I want to talk about first.  the last couple of weeks have been horribly busy preparing for it, but on Sunday the 16th, I danced in the winter Gala performance in our theater.

We had dancers from all over Estonia (not that estonia has so much "All Over" for them to be from,) And... I realy felt like the star of the show, (OK, one of...)

There was also a realy good pas de deux from the Tallinn Ballet school, and the Prima Ballerina of Estonia did the Dying swan to end the concert. She was very nice, and danced well.  But I realy felt like the popular favorite.

Oh, fame fame fame, (in a wee little country. :)

Anyhow, I danced a little Pas de Six with some girls from our theater's ballet school, which was fine, and rather easy for me.  And THEN, I did the Don Quixote Pas de deux.

(joy ojy joy joy joy.)

It's one of the more famous and well known Pas de Deuxes in the ballet world, and I didn't do a fabulus, stupendus, world class job of it, BUT, I did it very well for Estonia.  It was realy good... for me (My standards, I mean), and for the Audience, (By their standards,) and I just got congratulations after congrdulations after the performance.

(and the Applause went on and on.  Oh! how it was!  In the coda, (the last section of the Pas de Deux) they started a full round of applause while I was still danceing.  It was weird; I thought "It's just tour a la second!  I haven't even finished them yet, and everyone is clapping!!?!"  And afetr my variation (solo bit) I bowed, and went off stage, and they kept on going, so I had to go back on and bow again.)

OK, OK, OK... perhaps this isn't as interesting and exciting to you as it feels to me, so I'll try to talk about other things now.

It was just... So Great a Feeling!    HOORAAAYYYY!

Anyhow, Let's see...

For christmass, I'm going to the country place of one family I've met here.  OK... I'm sure you're all thinking the same thing:  I actually befriended a girl, and then met her family, and after that started befriending the family too, but I am still most familiar with Ave (that's the girl's name of course.)

It will be nice though: to get out into the country, (beside a lake,) and be in a good family setting, (with three cats and a couple of dogs.)  And lots of good cooking, which I plan to do at least my fair share of.

Oh, and I'm finally joining the Masses here, and Getting myself a cell phone.  (oooh Aaah!)  And this is partly come about due to my annoyance of not being able to easily be in contact with Ave.  But there are other reasons too; it's just that she's the only person in Estonia I regularly want to talk to, and don't see Every Single Day in the theater.

And I am in the theater... nearly every single day.  Perhaps one day of the week I'm not.

WEll.......... What else can a type on and on and on and on and on about?

(evil grin.)

nOT MUCH THAT i CAN THINK OF. oH, LET ME PRESS cAPS lOCK AGAIN FIRST THOUGH.  Ahhh, much better.  In case I didn't say so to every one earlier, I'm dancing The prince in Cinderella, one of the stags in Bamby, and one of the... characters in a ballet-pantomime based on Charley Chaplin movies.

I'm also singing/dancing/"acting" in Gypy, the musical about Gypsy Rose Lee.  (and getting extra pay for that because of the singing "acting")

I type "Acting" because my only two laines are "Palu Õnne" (which means "happy Birthday.") and "Enchanté... et charment", which is French (or meant to be. :)  But I do have to react in appropriot ways to the acting that's going on about me.

In the spring, we'll also be doing a ballet conglomerate. (OK, that's not the right word, but what IS the correct word?)  It's the first act Choppiniana, and the second act a condensed don Quixoté.  So it's lots of dancing for me. (Yes, I will be the poet in Les Sylphides/Choppiniana. )

As for the question that some might be thinking: What next year?  well... I'm not certain of any thing.  But I could well immagine being here for another year.

I may also be dancing in Germany, but it's none of that certain.  So you'll have to wait and see. (just like me.)

And I was in the paper again today, (or at least a photo of me from the gala concert.)

And i think I've finally got to the end of my rambling so-on-and-so-forth.

Rejoice; you're nearly at the end!

ummm... yeah.  So, I appolagise for sending this now, instead of in a week, when it's more of a christmassy time, but I thought I'd try to share the realy good mood that I have right now.

Did I succede?

Well, happy Hollidays to all, and may your... Season be aggreable. (a-Greet-able.)

Oh, and also very tastey-good-scrumptious.

I'll leave this poor little key-board alone now.

JOY,

    SlyM
