Excerpt from A letter to Vanemuine Ballet.

Oh... and for any new forigners with the company, there is a story I have to tell you...

I lived in Kuperjaanovi for two years, without even once talking to Liina, who lived at the end of my hall; I figgured that I'm only anoy her, and that I'd only feel foolish, for not being able to communicate with her... or even finding anything to say. "What might this lady and I possibly have in common," I thought, and imagined that it could hardly be enough to bother about.

But... I has totaly mistaken.

In my last 10 days, before I leaving Estonia, I met Liina, and by complete chance, started talking with her. And she turned out to be one of the most interesting people I met, that I could talk on and on with.

So, we became close friends... in those few days, and then I left the country.

What I'd like to say, is that allthough a lot of Estonians may seem distant, and cold to strangers, it's still worth it to allways be meeting new people there. Once they open up, they can be marvelous. And especially in Tartu, you'll meet more than I'd ever expected, who will even talk with strangers. You never know who your next best friend could be.

Well... I don't know if that was usefull... or insulting, or just stupid. But it's something that I have felt, so it was meaningfull, at least to me.
